I am called Brightleaf
I have seen 64 moons
I am titled to heal, as a Medicine Cat
My blood is to, my heart lies in, Thunder Clan

Picture me beautiful; And beautiful she is, Brightleaf is a small cat, one of the smallest in her clan- not including kits, but she never grew much bigger than any of the apprentices, and shes constantly skinny, even during Greenleaf when prey is rich, but her extremely small, runty stature was the reason she became a medicine cat, she would never have been any use in a battle when one swing of an enemy paw seems like it would break her into thousands of tiny pieces. Her small frame is cloaked in a dappled pattern, a white base, with pale, chocolate brown markings saddling her back and down her legs, as well as her face and ears, and through the brown are few, bright specks of a pale ginger colour that you would otherwise miss unless you gave her a thorough look-over. Her eyes are one of her most captivating features however, since they are a dark, murky blue green, but never gloomy, always full of life and emotion.
And with the words I speak, see into me; Her eyes are directly windows to her soul, and thoughts, but for her, its somewhat annoying. Shes never been good at masking her emotions, as much as she may try, but a quick gaze into the dark depths and you'll know her every thought, opinion, and emotion. Shes a naive cat, despite her age, and very meek, and quite shy around new cats, which is why she stays within the camp, except for quickly going out to gather herbs, and when she is so forced to go to Gatherings. At the large, cat-filled events, she keeps her head down and her eyes adverted, showing her meek disposition, never wishing to fight or start arguments, but shes not entirely a push-over. Years of being this way have steeled her will, and she'll pursue what she believes is right, even if you think you can change her mind, you won't, she just won't let you know you haven't. When it comes to herbs and remedies, shes one of the best there is in the forest, and she finds herself aiding the other medicine cats when they come to her, for they she holds them in a strange light, for caring for others, as she does.
And therefore, learn of my past, and make your conclusion; Brightkit was born to to revered warriors within her clan, large and powerful cats who never backed down from a challenge- what a disappointment it must have been when they produced her, and only her, no more than a small scrap of fur that was terrified of her own shadow, who cowered from every cat who came to visit her. Her father scoffed, and immediately disowned her, claiming it wasn't his kit- and so the rift between his parents became too much, her father going back to being a mate-less warrior, and her mother... she could feel the rift between them too, but it was still her mother, Leafflight, and she loved her kit. She became an apprentice to the deputy of the clan, and her mother beamed, while Brightpaw shook in terror. She was a Warrior's apprentice now, ThunderClan's deputy nonetheless, and still, she didn't want to fight and train, but she did, constantly coming back to camp early, shredded and tired, shaking like a brittle leaffall leaf in the wind, and the kind medicine cat patched her up while her mentor complained that his apprentice was weak and easily breakable, not warrior material. This would enrage her mother, and Brightpaw would hide in the Medicine Cat's den, feigning sleep.
Her mentor began spending less and less time training her, focusing on the apprentices of other cats, but this didn't bother Brightpaw at all, she'd stay in the medicine cat's den, and help Mossfur with whatever he was doing, whether it was sorting herbs or healing clanmates, and she found she loved it, dreading the days she'd have to go out for warrior training. Soon after, Mossfur approached their leader, and requested that he take over Brightpaw's training. After much explanation, and the deputy's pleading that he get a different apprentice, it was settled, and Brightpaw became a medicine cat apprentice. She learned everything should could, absorbing all information from Mossfur, grateful that she'd never feel the rake of claws in battle again. Mossfur grew older, and began to tire from his work, but he was still a great comfort when her mother died after a harsh leafbare- but Brightpaw and Mossfur saved many cats from the same fate, and that Newleaf, she earned her Medicine Cat name, Brightleaf, in honor of her mother, and that summer, Mossfur, an old cat now, passed away. She was filled with sorrow over her mentors death, but she took it and tucked away his memory, taking her role as ThunderClan's medicine cat, always willing to help her Clan in times of peril, always there for them, even when she'd rather curl up under a bush and hide from the world.
