Falconheart was unusually restless to say the least. She had been curled up neatly outside the warrior's den, but found herself endlessly shifting for one reason or another. Her head rested on her paws, but even the small comfort she usually gained from the solidity of the position was barren from her now. She had closed her eyes, but her eyelids flickered open now. Her gaze darted from side to side as she searched the clearing. What was biting at her so?
Falconheart looked around herself carefully. Her head still rested gently on her forepaws, but now her tail tip twitched anxiously back and forth against the ground. She went around the Windclan camp systematically. Everything was quiet. She could hear the occasional mew of a kitten from the Nursery accompanied by the soft voice of a queen. The camp was mostly silent. Falconheart felt her heartbeat slow and allowed her eyes to droop closed once more. She didnt know why she was on edge, there was no reason to be.
Moments later, her eyes fluttered open once more. It was useless, there would be no napping this afternoon. She stood slowly, stretching as she did so. Her tail swished against her back legs. Her eyes were bright and expectant as she looked around. No one was in sight. With a muffled sigh, Falconheart padded to the entrance and vanished out of the camp with a flash of tabby fur.
She wandered outside of the camp, her mind distant and occupied with thoughts that tumbled and entangled themselves within her head. She kept her eyes on the ground passing beneath her paws, though didnt take any of it in. This restlessness was unusal for Falconheart. She was a placid, controlled she-cat. She was content. So what was she fighting now? She sat down with a more vocal sigh, curling her tail around her paws. What did she want? That was too complicated a question.
She wanted a family of her own, a mate and kittens to raise and love and nurture. She wanted Kestrelflight and Eaglewing back. She wanted them to be with her, be happy with who they were. She wanted to know they were happy and well cared for. She wanted acceptance. She wanted the loneliness to go away.
She paused as a twig cracked. Her ears perked and she looked over her shoulder towards the sound. Her eyes were soft and curious. She was not annoyed to have her thoughts interrupted. She looked towards who might have stumbled upon her in her time of silent need.

Sleetkit thought he was being so cool and brave; wandering from camp at only 5 moons in the freezing cold. His paws had touched the ground lightly for the first while. After a time of traveling, he caught the scent of a cat. It was definitely A Windclan she-cat. He quivered with excitement. He had seen a cat go out of camp, FalconHeart, and had followed her scent trail. He definitely smelled her up ahead. But, she seemed restless.
The small white and gray tom stalked forward. Just as he was about to sit back down and wait for her to go again, a twig snapped under the toms fore-paw. Mouse-dung! He said in his head. If she saw him, he would surely have to go back and get in trouble. But, a soft understanding side of him slid out. This she-cat seemed sad. A glint of determination flashed in his eyes. Sleetkit walked out cautiously at first. Then he came and stood by her, uncaring that he could get in trouble right now. "Whats wrong?" He asked quietly, eyes understanding, despite his young age.

Falconheart's eyebrows arched ever so slightly as Sleetkit walked out of the bushes. She blinked at the small tom kitten for a moment before smiling warmly at him. He had obviously followed her, there was no other reason for him to be out of camp. She mused it was better than he be with her than lost somewhere, though he shouldn't have left the camp in the first place. She shook her head, simultaneously speaking and flicking her tail towards the patch of grass at her side. "You shouldn't be out of camp, Sleetkit. You know that." She sent him a stern glare, but couldn't hold it for long. She vivildly remembered her own kithood days, and her escapades with Kestrelflight and Eaglewing. She, of course, had been Falconkit then and her siblings were Kestrelkit and Eaglekit. Falconheart smiled absently, memories of scampering in the nursery with her siblings rose in her mind. Kestrelflight, always so abnormally tiny, was the most adorable kitten. She tumbled over at the slightest touch and was the most innocent and quiet of the three, still was too.
Falconheart looked back to Sleetkit, focusing on the question he had asked. Obviously he was showing concern, but Falconheart's troubles were too heavy to put on the shoulders of a kit. She smiled softly. "There is nothing wrong, Sleetkit, I was simply feeling pensive." She looked out at the horizon, savoring the view. She knew she would have to take Sleetkit back to camp now. He shouldn't have left in the first place.

Sleetkit shuffled his paws as FalconHeart got onto him. He could feel her staring at him, but then a few memories seemed to cloud her thought. He knew he wasn't supposed to be out here, but every kit did it once in its life! Sleetkit awaited her answer, and got it a moment later."There is nothing wrong, Sleetkit, I was simply feeling pensive." Falconheart said, and Sleetkit looked back towards her. Not quite sure what 'pensive' meant, he guessed she was just a little worried or something.
He hoped his mother wasn't missing him, but realized she probably was. He had wandered after FalconHeart early, and now the sun was well up. "I know i shouldn't be out of camp...but I've never even seen much more than the small area i can see through the entrance! My mother worries to much about me..." His mother was Rushfur, a silvery she-cat with green eyes. She was fiercely protective of him, because he was her only kit.
He hadn't got out of camp much, and always returned within seconds before Rushfur saw him. The kit sighed as he remembered her reminding him about being a strong warrior. "Sometimes, i don't even think i want to become a warrior apprentice. I wanna help cats. You ever felt that way?" Sleetkit asked, looking up at FalconHeart.

"I know i shouldn't be out of camp...but I've never even seen much more than the small area i can see through the entrance! My mother worries to much about me..." Falconheart's ears twitched and she nodded ever so slightly. She couldn't count the number of times she, Eaglewing and Kestrelflight had snuck out of the Riverclan camp when they were kittens. Usually it was Eaglewing's idea and Kestrelflight argued against it. Eaglewing had always been adventurous and daring where Kestrelflight was more timid and quiet. Falconheart just went along, the neutral ground between her two siblings. How could she really lecture Sleetkit about leaving camp when she wasn't exactly a stellar kitten herself? As if perfect behavior would have earned me anything besides their distrust and posioned hearts anyways... Even her thoughts had a slightly bitter twinge. It had never mattered what she and her siblings did, if they excelled, if they were the best, or the worst. Riverclan still saw them as disgusting. Maybe they were. That was the thought Falconheart hated the most. Maybe they were.
She smiled absently at Sleetkit, caught by his mention of a worried mother. Falconheart had never had a worried mother. Or an adoptive mother. Or any kind of parent. Or anyone worried about her besides her siblings. She had been abandoned, no one knew what she was - and neither did she. Sometimes it didn't bother her at all, she had grown up with it. Other times it drove her crazy, like now. "Sometimes, i don't even think i want to become a warrior apprentice. I wanna help cats. You ever felt that way?" Falconheart's attention snapped back. She knew she had to say something. She was going to creep the poor kitten out. She smiled again slightly and shook her head slowly. "That was never my path, I was always destined to be a warrior from the start-" She cut herself off. That wasn't true. She had always wanted to be a Queen, a mother. She wasn't a warrior. She wasn't a leader. She wasn't even a Medicine Cat. She was meant to be a Queen. "No, Sleetkit. I've never had that urge, the urge to help and heal. But neither am I a warrior. I am a Queen at heart, though I patiently wait for when that purpose is realized." She smiled slightly, imagining having her own kittens bouncing at her paws.

Sleetkit tilted her head. That was what was troubling her. Being a kit, he knew that a queen was a cat with kits, like his mother. He would never know how she felt, but maybe he had a slight idea. His mother expressed all her love through various ways, and had told him she never regret him living, even though his father died. No, he wasn't dead. He was sure of it. Sleetkit stilled as thoughts took him over, but he soon brushed them away.
He glanced up again. He was sure his mother would be frantic, and would never let him out of her sight for days. Sleetkit could tell the larger she-cat was lost in thoughts as well, and he got up. "I guess i better get back before i enter day-dream land..." He mrrowed, amused with himself. "But I;m bigger than i was; almost an apprentice! I'm big for my age...she shouldn't freak." He murmured hotly again. Truth was, he was a large kit. Almost as big as a kit almost a moon older.
Sleetkit looked back towards camp, his eyes darker. But, soon his anger was exhausted. He may be strong, but he had a soft heart. Sleetkit's fur leveled out, and his tail drooped slightly.

Falconheart looked back to Sleetkit and smiled kindly. She stood, stretching lazily and shaking out her fur. She flicked Sleetkit with her tail, nodding in the direction of the camp. "We should both be heading back." She started padding towards the camp, knowing Sleetkit would follow. Falconheart didn't have a loving mother or brother or mate waiting back at camp. No, she had nothing but a warm nest. That was incentive enough. WIP
