Name: Icepaw/storm
Age: 12 Moons
Rank: Medicine Cat Apprentice
Allegiance: Riverclan
Picture:
(Only both his eyes are blue (couldn't come up with a better picture))
Appearance: Icepaw is a very small apprentice. His size is nothing more than that of a middle aged kit. Many cats question his rank in his clan due to his kit-like appearance. His fur is a brilliant white, like that of snow, or rather, ice. His fur is longer than most, but not exactly long haired either. It's more mid length. His tail is long and fluffy and sticks straight up with he's sad or confused. His eyes are an icy blue with darker flecks to them and his ears have a bit of a point to them. Closer observation reveals odd, almost invisible swirls, usually a tad dark or a tad lighter then his base color. Like most Riverclan cats, Icepaw's fur is very sleek and usually well groomed. He has a slim, lean build. He's much more skinny then his den mates, and, if his fur were shorter, then one would be able to see his ribs, causing others to question whether he's getting enough to eat.
Personality: As one might be able to tell, Icepaw is very small. Maybe a bit to small for his own good. His kit-like appearance has opened him to much bullying and teasing. As you can probably tell, those who are bullied aren't usually social butterflies. Icepaw is definitely no exception. He's very timid and shy. He's afraid to fight, worried he'll get hurt or the other person will and tends to avoid rough situations. He's more of a peace maker, truly, but doesn't like drawing attention to stop an argument. He's very clumsy, and is a huge pack-rat. Not that his organizational skills are any better. He's very kind though and can open up easily to kits who seem to be the only ones who can and ever will understand him. When his father is mentioned or his loyalty is questioned, however, Icepaw shows a different side of himself-a cold, rude cat who snaps out at anyone who dares to come near him. He hates people who judge others before getting to know them since it happens to him often.
History:
Icepaw's parents were always kind, gentle cats. They cared for him and his siblings very much. Their father came to visit them whenever he could and his mother was so sweet and caring, seeing she and her kits together could give you cavities. Icepaw was as happy as any cat-maybe even happier. His two sisters became apprentices before him, though, and he watched from a distance as the two proteges became apprentices. But it wasn't long until he followed in their tracks and became an apprentice himself. His parents never stopped caring for him and he saw more of his father then when they lived in the nursery.
You see, Icepaw and his sisters weren't the only apprentices at the time. There was one more apprentice-a she-cat by the name of Shadepaw. Icepaw had a huge crush on her and was certain that every time he saw her, he had a heart attack. But Icepaw was shy even then and he couldn't bring himself to confess his feelings for her. But, much to his surprise, she confessed her love for him. Life was going so perfectly for him... But would it last?
The answer, my friend, is a big fat no. Peace never lasts in the world of the clans, as the young apprentice would soon find out. Tensions were high between Riverclan and Shadowclan at the time and more and more border scuffles came up. His mother had moved out of the nursery when Icepaw had become an apprentice and went back to her warrior duties. It was only a matter of time before she was sent on a border patrol where Shadowclan gave them trouble. It was in this scuffle that she was brutally murdered.
The clan mourned for her. His father was broken. Never before had he loved someone so much and allowed them to die in the claws of an enemy clan. It was then that his father swore he's avenge his mate's death and it was in his hopes for revenge that he himself was killed as well.
With no parents, the three siblings were all alone in the world. Icepaw had witnessed the death of his father and was completely shaken. Fighting had killed both his parents and many cats before him. He feared it could be the death of himself. He and his sisters were allowed a break from apprentice duties so that they would have time to get the thought of their parents death out of their heads. The white tom was taking a walk with one of his sisters when they scented a fox.
His sister was bent on catching it and ran straight into it's lair, Icepaw behind her. They fought like warriors that day, but the fox fought harder, taking the life of yet another one of his family members. He fled, afraid he'd die as well, and made it back to camp safely but with terrible news.
His other sister had taken a liking to a loner that lived on the outskirts of their territory. The tom had promised that he'd never leave her and that if she joined him in his life as a loner she'd be better off in the end. She happily agreed and left clan life behind without a second thought.
Now, Icepaw was all alone-terrified of fighting and afraid to lose the one he loved. He lied, telling her that he never loved her and never would and that he hated her with his very being. She ran away, hurt, and was never heard from again. No one knows what happened to her-if she died or went to live in the twoleg place like his sister. but one with was sure. while trying to protect her from his string of bad luck, Icepaw had only added to the growing chain of bad things.
He had taken an interest in medicine and decided that since he was to scared to fight, being a medicine cat would be the right path for him.
