Snowflakes slowly feel from the sky, adding to the thin white blanket of snow starting to form on the ground. The days were only getting colder and new-leaf seemed like seasonss away. It had been moons since anyone went to bed full.
Icepaw was no acception. The white tom sat in the medicine cat's den, shivering in the cold. Thankfully there was no sickness as he could see and he could stare at the others living their lives in peace without a worry.
He preffered being alone. It seemed like anyone he'd every gotten close to seemed to fade away, leaving him alone once more. He didn't want his streak of bad luck to continue and he kept away from the others.
"It's for the best," he reasured himself, looking at his paws. "I'm not going to let anyone get hurt because of me."

At this point in time, the medicine cat was sleeping peacefully in the medicine cat's den. At least, you would think she was, with her rhymatic movements of her stomach as it rose and fell, and she kept absolutely still and quiet. She did this often, for she didn't want some cats to come in here to just talk to her. If it was a sickness, no problem, but to sit and chat...? She was not prepared for things such as that.
At this time, she was paying attention to Icepaw. What he was saying, and feeling his vibrations. Okay, she couldn't really feel them, but I mean as in, if he ruffles her fur with a paw on accident or something such as this. Now, what was he saying? Ah... something about him not hurting anyone? Or something like that? Because of him? What was he talking about...
The multi-colored she-cat slowly rose up on all four, making no sounds while doing this. She didn't want alarm her apprentice... He was a good fello'. That was for sure. And she could see that-- she could also see that he has a lot to go. A lot of learning. And stuff.
MiracleFur slowly padded beside him, and sat down, looking over in his way with her turquoise eyes. Nothing was really lying there in her eyes; she was pretty much emotionless right now. Well, she wasn't, but her eyes were. She didn't like showing sadness or joy... she felt like she can't have those emotions. At least, not show them because it might effect the cat beside her. She couldn't risk that.
"Now... why would someone hurt because of you..." she asked that in a very quiet tone, which was sweet as well. Like a flowing fountain rolling down in a creak very gently... or melted warm milk chocolate going down your throat... That's sweet, right? Well, her voice might be able to make almost anyone smile, but... she didn't use it much, her voice that is, "from what I see... you make a lot of cats happy... and you save a lot of cats."
MiracleFur sighed softly, and looked down at her paws. She didn't really know what to say. She did know how she felt-- she was concerned for the young one. Why would one cat hurt another? In what way was he talking about? She didn't know this, but she knew that Icepaw helped a lot of cats. That is for sure. [/blockquote]

Icepaw turned to look at Miraclefur and dipped his head in shame. She wouldn't understand what he was coming at. She didn't have any cat who got close to her die or go away. She would be able to understand his feelings.
"You think I make cats happy?" he asked, a little suprised. "From how the elders react, you'd think I'm telling them I'm going to torture them. And I haven't really saved anyone. I've just given them herbs and such and sent them on their merry way. You're the one who saves cats, not me."

Moonshine hears the apprentice and mentor and looks over. She twitches an ear to catch the words better. She was still blaming herself for the deaths of her littermate, Blazepaw, and his mentor, Cedarpelt, even though she herself had not known how to deal with badgers at that time. Rosepetal, her own mentor, had lived a good life and left for Statclan a moon or two ago. She stands up and goes over to the fresh-kill pile. She contemplates it for a heartbeat, then leaves it untouched. She looks over at the medicine cat and the apprentice and walks over slowly.
"Hey," she mews quietly. She looks at the apprentice. "You're... Icepaw, right?" She had to ask. Keeping names in order had been hard for her after Blazepaw's death, and Rosepetal's hadn't made it any easier. She knew Rosepetal had loved her like a queen does her kits. "May I sit with you?" she asks quietly, trying to be polite.

Icepaw turned with a worried expression, his shyness peeking in. He was a little used to being around Miriclefur, seeing as she was his mentor, but with other cats, not so much.
"H-hi," he stuttered. This was going to be a bit awquard on his part... "Yeah, that's me. And you're... Moonshade? No, that's not it... Sun...shine? That's not it either..."
He rubbed the bottom of his chin with his tail. "Moonshine...? Yeah, that's it. Moonshine." After she finished speaking, he replied, "Uh... sure..." He skooted over a bit to make room for her. "So, uh... How are you?"

Moonshine smiles and sits next to the apprentice. "As well as can be expected..." she says quietly. The sun glints off her bright white pelt. She looks at the sky, then smiles. "I guess I'm doing better, though... I still miss Rosepetal, Dawnheart, and Rainpelt, but..." She sighs. "Well, it doesn't matter. What's done is done." She smiles slightly. "Honestly, you look a bit worried. Is something wrong?" She tilts her head. No one would be able to say she hadn't tried to reintegrate herself into the clan.

Kestrelflight was limping slightly, inwardly cursing herself for her carelessness. She wasn't the type of warrior who could afford to make mistakes, to be injured, to be weak. She had never been that cat. She frowned slightly and winced when she put too much weight on her front paw. She felt a little more blood trickle out and she lifted it daintily to lap at the blood. She had torn a claw while hunting and as much as she needed to bring back more prey - to prove her own worth - she was useless without being treated first. Don't fool yourself, you're always useless. Her thoughts were bitter.
She peeked into the Medicine Cat Den, calling softly. "Miraclefur? Icepaw?" Her voice was tentative. She was shy and quiet by nature, painfully so. She had become even further withdrawn after Eaglewing and Falconheart had departed for Thunderclan and Windclan respectively. She had been left alone, the half-clan monstrosity. No one even knew which clans she was from. She was just a burden, disgusting. That was how they saw her.
She limped into the den, catching sight of Moonshine and Icepaw. Her ears flicked and she held her paw cradled to her chest awkwardly. She looked down at the ground, then back at the two cats and cleared her throat quietly. "Excuse me?"
